Our Projects - What We Do

We have come a long way since 2008 when we started financial support for education programs for a handful of underprivileged children. It started after seeing the plight of student residing in chawls of Mumbai having intelligence and talent but not enough financial or family support for education.

Madhav Sewa foundation took these children in our wing to give them new hope to fly with the support of education wings.

Every student is selected using systematic process of selection like background verification, IQ TEST, academic results verification.

Students those who are not selected they have option to use our study center as well as low cost computer center.

Apart from providing financial support we also develop skills like leadership, confidence and communication skill in students by providing monthly life skill development support. The intention of this monthly life skill development program is to create sense of belonging towards nation and society so that they contribute in strong nation building

Personality Development Program with Scholarship: ‘Maharshi Sandipani Pratibhashali Chhatra Anudan Nidhi’ – Under this scheme, Foundation select few students at 5th standard annually (since 2008-09), who are talented but economically poor, based on an IQ test. We provide them necessary monetary help so that they can continue to study without any distraction or interruptions.

Additionally, we conduct various activities on a monthly basis under guidance of expert psychologists to help them develop their all-rounded personality skills. In addition to these monthly activities, these kids are sent to personality development courses/camps run by other organizations to provide them further input. Additionally, they participate in an educational picnic and a general picnic every year. Till the 12th class, these kids will be provided necessary monetary help and personality & skill development, after which, the kids will be provided scholarships to help them complete higher education.

         2. Veer Abhimanyu Abhyasika

                      (Free study center)

In Mumbai environment many kids live in small rooms in Chawls or slums with or in some cases without electricity. This Study Room helps them overcome these obstacles that come in the way of their ability to study in a focused way. These kids come to this well-lit and aired facility with pin drop silence for 2 hours every day on a regular basis and study with the required concentration so that they are able to improve their performance in School and hence get further motivation. Foundation opened its first Abhyasika in 2006 in Forest land of Malad where poorest of poor live in Mumbai, then in 2007 added one at more location nearby but both Abhyasikas were disallowed by Forest Department. Without getting demoralized volunteers of Foundation started in 2008 next Abhyasika at Mangesh School located in Kurar village (a slum area). We were forced to stop this Abhyasika in 2011 because of lack of local Volunteers.

Veer Abhimanyu Abhyasika: This Abhyasika has been started from 2010 in Utkarsh Mandir Shala, Malad East. The Abhyasika is open from 7pm to 9pm. At 8 pm, kids do Pranayam and Prayers for couple of minutes and then restart study under pin drop silence for another one Hour. Once a week, kids enjoy some wholesome games and exercises for an hour to increase their physical strength. Once in a year all students of Abhyasika get an opportunity to participate in an educational picnic to enhance their knowledge and also enjoy a general picnic and site seeing in around Mumbai. Some of the selected kids are sent to personality development courses/camps to provide them further input. In the summer vacation, 10th grade Students are helped specially with an English Speaking Course so after joining Collage they can co-op with the changed language instruction.

 3. P. P. Rajendra Singhji Computer Prashikshan Kendra  Computer Training

Right next to the dense population of Mumbai, there is a green forest area east of Goregaon. The Aarey Colony area itself has 32 tribal villages called Padas. These villages have severe shortage of quality education and other facilities, in spite of being part of Mumbai. They have to travel near Goregaon Station for the basic Education. This is costly for them and also difficult too.  The result is most of them preferred dropping out of School before Matriculation. The result these kids end up getting very low paid jobs jobs. They are a little apprehensive about education. Since May 2011, we are providing them computer education, so that they can get better job opportunities. Additionally, we try to motivate them to complete their education and provide them with character development inputs.

4. E-Learning Program in Pushpa Park                      Municipal School

The condition of Municipal Schools are very pathetic in spite lots of funds are spent on these Schools by Government, due to lack of supervision and no motivation to teachers. But ultimate sufferers are the Students who come from very poor families and are totally helpless.  New Government is working hard to improve their condition but it may take long time. Instead blaming Municipality & Government, Madhav Sewa Foundation has started a E-learning Program for 10th Standard of Pushpa Park Municipal School in Malad from academic year 2015-2016. We are hopeful that due to this program the Result of this School will improve in Board Exams. Once this program shows its good result we are planning to start this program in other Municipal Schools in East Goregaon, East Malad and East Kandivali.
